We will have an open studio on Wednesdays at T.Arts Studio. Karin Smith will introduce you to printmaking techniques you can do at home without expensive equipment. All equipment and materials will be supplied in the studio.
Lino Printing
This is relief printing where we cut the marks into the lino. Where we cut will be white and where we haven’t cut will be black.
Tetrapak printing
This is in the style of traditional etching where we use a sharp implement to make marks on the inside layer of a Tetrapak (milk or juice carton) and then use a pasta press to transfer the ink to paper.
Kitchen Lithography
This method uses the principle that oil and water don’t mix. We will draw onto a piece of alfoil; wash it in Coca Cola which etches the image onto the alfoil. We then put ink on the alfoil and print it.
The studio will be open from 2.00 pm till 4.30 pm each Wednesday.
Numbers are limited so you get personalised attention.
Even if you don’t feel that you are creative or artistic you will be surprised at what you can produce. The studio workshop is ideal for beginners. The making process is really enjoyable.
