I started my love of making pots from a very young age, digging clay from our dam wall, shaping and moulding bowls and dishes and baking them in the hot dry sun, unbeknown to me at the time I was using a primitive technique of firing called Adobe.
In my mid-twenties I studied wheel throwing, glazing and firing being guided by so many great Australian Potters who were so generous with their skills and knowledge. I make functional ware and one off pieces using different methods for firing to create low fired pieces through to high fired stoneware functional and decorative ware.
My passion still reverts back to that little girl digging in that dam wall to make primitive style pottery using various low fired methods which include saggar, sawdust and bonfire pots.
